fair, fare
One meaning of the adjective fair is “reasonable and morally right”. The verb fare is used for saying how well or how badly someone does something.
| Incorrect: | We did not fair well against the other teams. |
| Correct: | We did not fare well against the other teams. |
| Incorrect: | Life is not fare. |
| Correct: | Life is not fair. |
