Everyday is an adjective that is placed before a noun to modify it. Every day is a noun phrase that acts as an adverb to modify verbs.

Incorrect:The technology is used in every day life.
Correct:The technology is used in everyday life.
Incorrect:Tim walks his dog everyday.
Correct:Tim walks his dog every day.
