anymore, any more
Anymore or any more (American spelling) is an adverb used to express a situation that has ended.
| Correct: | We are not seeing each other anymore. |
| Correct: | We are not seeing each other any more. |
Any more also means “any additional”. When used before a noun, anymore is a spelling error.
| Incorrect: | Maple Ridge doesn’t need anymore stray cats. |
| Correct: | Maple Ridge doesn’t need any more stray cats. |
