Dangling Modifier Example 2

What’s wrong with this sentence?

“An award-winning author, her books have ranged from autobiographies to cookbooks.”

The quoted sentence has a dangling modifier. The introductory modifier an award-winning author is dangling. Her books cannot be an award-winning author. To correct the sentence, recast the main clause and change the subject to she.

An award-winning author, she has written books ranging from autobiographies to cookbooks.
