repent from, repent of

Which should you use, repent from or repent of? The verb repent is used with the preposition of to mean to be very sorry for something bad you have done and wish that you had not done it, especially when you have done something against the rules of your religion. The verb phrase repent from is incorrect.

Incorrect: He repented from his sins and became a better person.
Correct: He repented of his sins and became a better person.
