Dangling Modifier Example 1

What’s wrong with this sentence?

“As a child, her beauty had been extraordinary.”

The quoted sentence has a dangling modifier. Her beauty could not have been a child. To correct the sentence, recast the main clause and change the subject to she.

As a child, she had been extraordinarily beautiful.
