The construction such as is used to introduce appositives. An appositive is a noun that defines another noun. Do not use any punctuation mark after such as.

Incorrect: You should consume foods such as: breakfast cereal with low fat milk, toast or bread with jam.
Correct: You should consume foods such as breakfast cereal with low fat milk, toast or bread with jam.

Such as is preceded by a comma if the appositives are non-defining.

Correct: I like bright colours, such as red and yellow.

Such as is not preceded by a comma if the appositives are defining.

Correct: Colours such as red and yellow are my favourite.
