Which should you use, as is somebody’s want or as is somebody’s wont? The expression as is somebody’s wont is used for saying that someone has a habit of doing a particular thing.

Correct: He showed up late, as was his wont.
Correct: The people gathered at the hall to celebrate, as was their wont.

As is somebody’s want cannot be used to refer to someone’s habit.

Incorrect: He went out for a stroll, as was his want.
Correct: He went out for a stroll, as was his wont.
