any more, anymore

Which should you use, any more or anymore? Any more or anymore (American spelling) is an adverb used to express a situation that has ended.

Correct: We are not seeing each other any more.
Correct: We are not seeing each other anymore.

Any more is also used to introduce additional items. Anymore, however, may not be used before a noun or noun phrase.

Incorrect: Maple Ridge doesn’t need anymore stray cats.
Correct: Maple Ridge doesn’t need any more stray cats.
