Which should you use, weather or whether? The noun weather means the conditions that exist in the atmosphere such as wind, rain, or temperature. The verb weather means to deal successfully with a difficult situation or a problem. The subordinating conjunction whether is used for expressing doubt.

Incorrect: Hot whether is back.
Correct: Hot weather is back.
Incorrect: He was able to whether the scandal.
Correct: He was able to weather the scandal.
Incorrect: Weather you like it or not, winter is coming.
Correct: Whether you like it or not, winter is coming.
