Which should you use, thorough or through? The adjective thorough means detailed and careful. The adjective through means having finished using or doing something.

Incorrect: He took a through look at my car.
Correct: He took a thorough look at my car.
Incorrect: Are you thorough with the textbook?
Correct: Are you through with the textbook?
