Which should you use, urban or urbane? The adjective urban may mean relating to towns and cities or happening there. The adjective urbane means (especially of a man) confident, comfortable, and polite in social situations.

Incorrect: There is a tendency of its inhabitants to move towards urbane areas.
Correct: There is a tendency of its inhabitants to move towards urban areas.
Incorrect: He is urban and educated.
Correct: He is urbane and educated.
