Which should you use, classic or classical? The adjective classic may mean completely typical or being of a high standard against which others of the same type are judged. The adjective classical may mean following the original or traditional standard for something, or relating to the culture of ancient Rome and Greece.

Incorrect: She likes classic music.
Correct: She likes classical music.
Incorrect: Sodium chloride is a classical example of an ionically bonded substance.
Correct: Sodium chloride is a classic example of an ionically bonded substance.
