Prepositional Phrases Worksheet 2

A prepositional phrase is a phrase consisting of a preposition and its object. The object of a preposition may be a noun, a noun phrase or a pronoun.

Pick out the prepositional phrases in these sentences. Some sentences may contain more than one prepositional phrase.

  1. There is a hole in the sole of my shoe.
  2. There are boats for rent at the lake.
  3. He parked his car in front of the house across the street.
  4. The water seeped through the crevices of the casement.
  5. We have not been there since April.
  6. What is good for the goose is good for the gander.
  7. She entered the university in the fall of 1968.
  8. The boys peered through the window panes of the basement.
  9. We will be in your area in the coming months.
  10. After a few months, your kitchen scraps near the bottom of your composter will have decomposed.
