Prepositional Phrases Worksheet 1

A prepositional phrase is a phrase consisting of a preposition and its object. The object of a preposition may be a noun, a noun phrase or a pronoun.

Pick out the prepositional phrases in these sentences. Some sentences may contain more than one prepositional phrase.

  2. He stood behind the table for some time.
  3. The old man came to the door.
  4. She was envious of her rival.
  5. Meet me at the station at noon on Thursday.
